PM Modi will unveil the statue of Shri Ramanujacharya today, 10 main things
President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and several other dignitaries from across the world have also been invited for the inauguration of the statue.

Minister Narendra Modi will unveil the statue of 11th century Vaishnava saint
Sri Ramanujacharya near Hyderabad on Saturday. The Prime Minister's visit
to Hyderabad was announced last month. Chinna Jeyar Swami of Sri
Ramanujacharya Ashram had met PM Modi in September last year and urged him to
visit the city. According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), the
inauguration will take place at 5 pm. The Prime Minister will also visit
the International Crop Research Institute for Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT)
campus in Patancheru and begin its 50th anniversary celebrations. President
Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and several other dignitaries
from across the world have also been invited for the inauguration of the
statue.
Know 10 key things about the 'Statue of Equality':
• This 216 feet statue has been installed in the 40-acre campus
of Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamy Ashram.
• According to Suryanarayan Yelpragada, Geer Education Trust
official, the 'Statue of Equality' is the second tallest in the sitting
position
• It has been made to commemorate the completion of 1,000 years
of his birth. The total cost of the project is around Rs 1,000 crore.
• The idol is made of five metals - gold, silver, copper, brass
and tin. The structure was built in 2017, but took four years to complete
work on other constructions
• The statue is placed on a huge lotus built on a three-storey
54-feet structure called Bhadravedi. The ground floor of 63,444 sq. ft.
has a pictorial presentation providing a glimpse into the life and philosophy
of Ramanujacharya.
• On the second floor there is a temple of Ramanujacharya with
an area of about 300,000 square feet, where his 120 kg gold idol will be
installed for daily worship.
• There is a Vedic digital library and research center on the
top floor of 14,700 sq.
• Outside Bhadravedi, the idol will be surrounded by 108 Divya
Desh Kshetras (Vaishnava temples located across the country) built of stone in
34 acres of land around the idol.
• The office bearers of the ashram have said that to make it
world-wide, flags of all the countries of the world will be installed near the
statue. He says this is being done in accordance with the idea of
equality promoted by Sri Ramanujacharya in all aspects of life including
religion, caste and creed.
