Smog Tower in Noida: The most important thing about the tower is its height. According to the information received, this tower is about twenty meters high and it will work to clean the air in 400 meters radius.

Smog Tower in Noida: The first prototype air pollution tower built in Noida was inaugurated today by the Minister of Heavy Industries, Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey. Gautam Buddha Nagar MP Dr Mahesh Sharma also participated in this program. Smog tower has been built near DND flyover in Noida. It has been prepared by Bhartiya Heavy Electrical Limited ie BHEL in association with Noida Authority.

What is special in the first smog tower of UP 

Actually, the most important thing about the tower is its height. According to the information received, this tower is about twenty meters high and it will work to clean the air in 400 meters radius. Its capacity is 80 thousand cubic meters per hour. This tower works to filter up to 2.5 PM. R Acharya, executive director of research and development at BHEL, says that it has been built at a cost of about 3 crores. In this, money has been spent on behalf of BHEL, while the land has been given by Noida Authority.

In this smog tower, polluted air is cleaned in two ways. First through the pleated filter which 48 are installed in this tower, second with the help of carbon filter which 32 have been installed. With their help the polluted air is cleaned. The four fans installed in the smog tower work to throw the clean air back out. If this smog tower is successful, then in the coming days twenty more such towers will be installed in Noida. 

Important role in building smog tower 

BHEL R&D has designed this smog tower in Hyderabad. In which R Acharya, the executive director of the RND team, has an important role. It has been made in Haridwar unit of BHEL. BHEL is responsible for all civil and electrical works including designing, manufacturing, testing, erection, commissioning. After commissioning, BHEL will also measure and assess the air pollution around the tower.
