J&K: 2 terrorists killed in encounter in Srinagar's Hyderpora area

Two terrorists were killed in an encounter in the Hyderpora area of Srinagar on Monday.


Two terrorists were killed in a brief encounter with security forces in the Hyderpora area of Srinagar on Monday, Jammu and Kashmir Police said.

The encounter started around 6.30 pm when security personnel were carrying out an anti-militancy operation in the area, according to a police official.

The identity and group affiliation of the terrorists are being ascertained, the official added.

The search operation is still going on.

Last week, a terrorist was killed in an encounter that broke out in the Hamdaniya Colony area of Bemina in Srinagar. An AK rifle along with some ammunition was recovered.

The deceased terrorist was identified as Aamir Riyaz, Kashmir police said in a tweet on Friday. He was affiliated with proscribed terror outfit Mujahideen Gazwatul Hind.
