Foreign Exchange Smuggling Case: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has got a big success in the matter of taking foreign exchange out of the country. Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officials on Monday nabbed a Dubai-bound passenger at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad, who was trying to smuggle foreign currency worth around Rs 13 lakh.
Central Industrial Security Force officials have informed that a passenger with 65,000 Saudi Riyals has been arrested at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. The value of the foreign currency recovered from the arrested person is approximately equal to Rs 12.86 lakh.
The CISF surveillance and intelligence team at Hyderabad airport noticed suspicious movements of a passenger while entering the terminal building at around 7 am on Monday, CISF Public Relations Officer said. After which on suspicion, his luggage was taken to the random checking point for checking.
His baggage was checked through X-Ray Baggage Inspection System (X-BIS) machine. During which CISF personnel saw a suspicious thing inside her handbag. After which on checking her handbag, 65000 Saudi Riyals were found hidden inside the pocket of her clothes.
At present, information about the smuggling of foreign currency has been given to senior officers of CISF and Customs officials. After which the arrested passenger in this case was handed over to the customs officials for further action. The passenger in the case has been identified as 36-year-old Syed Khalid.
