Priyanka Gandhi said – I have been kept in illegal imprisonment

Condemning the Yogi government, he said that many provisions of the law have been violated by not presenting Priyanka Gandhi Vadra before the magistrate.


Lucknow: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has been arrested and kept in a guest house in Sitapur on her way to Lakhimpur Kheri. During this, Priyanka, while talking to a news agency on her arrest, said that I have been kept in illegal imprisonment; Not produced before magistrate or judicial officer, not allowed to meet lawyer. Questions are being raised regarding the arrest of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. Congress leaders have accused the Congress leaders of non-compliance with the legal process for his arrest and not presenting him before the magistrate within 24 hours. 

 

Congress leader P Chidambaram has called the arrest of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra completely illegal and shameful. P Chidambaram said that he was arrested by a male police officer before sunrise at 4.30 am. He has not yet been taken to the judicial magistrate.

 

Condemning the Yogi government, he said that many provisions of the law have been violated. Law and order in Uttar Pradesh has a different meaning. Law means law and order of Adityanath. System means the order of Adityanath. This is a gross violation of their constitutional rights. CM Yogi Adityanath and BJP are making India a non-independent country. The Uttar Pradesh Police on Tuesday registered an FIR against Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and 11 others for "disturbing the peace" in the state.

According to SHO Brijesh Tripathi of Hargaon police station, a case has been registered against 11 including Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Devendra Hooda and Ajay Kumar Lallu under Section 107/16 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Earlier in the day, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had claimed that she has been detained for the last 28 hours without any order or FIR. Eight people died in the Lakhimpur Kheri incident on Sunday.
