Gujarat: BSF jawan arrested from Bhuj, accused of giving secret information to Pakistan

The accused jawan was posted in Battalion 74 posted in Gandhidham, Bhuj. He was arrested by Gujarat ATS on Monday on charges of espionage. The accused BSF jawan is a resident of Rajouri district of Kashmir. He was working in BSF for 9 years.


Gujarat ATS has arrested a BSF jawan from Bhuj on charges of espionage. It is alleged that this soldier of the paramilitary force posted in Bhuj was sending intelligence information to Pakistan. Central investigative agencies were constantly monitoring the accused jawan. Now he is being questioned continuously.

The accused jawan was posted in Battalion 74 posted in Gandhidham, Bhuj. He was arrested by Gujarat ATS on Monday on charges of espionage. BSF accused Jawan Sajjad Mohmand Imtiaz is a resident of Rajouri district of Kashmir. Sajjad was doing duty at Gandhidham in Bhuj since July 2021. He joined BSF in 2012 as a constable. According to the information, before this, 74 battalion of BSF was in Tripura, since then the accused jawan was on the radar of central investigative agencies.

Gujarat ATS team has also got 4 SIM cards from accused Sajjad. From whom he used to send all the intelligence information on the number of Pakistan through WhatsApp. In return, he used to get money. Which he used to deposit in the bank account of his brother Wajid and his working friend Iqbal Rashid.

According to Gujarat ATS, Sajjad had taken an Indian passport. On the basis of the same passport, he went to Pakistan on 1 December 2011 from Attari railway station via Samjhaut Express train. He stayed there for 46 days and came back to India on 16 January 2012.

The phone number received from Sajjad, his SIM is registered in the name of Satyagopal Ghosh, a resident of Tripura. Whose registration was done on 7 November 2020. There were only two calls on this number. After activation, only one message came on that number, which was OTP of WhatsApp. After that that number was closed. However, from this number, he used to send secret messages to Pakistan. ATS investigation is going on in this case.
