CM Mamta Banerjee said - Modi will compete with the country in 2024, 'Khel hobe' across the country

On the question of who will be the face of the opposition in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC President Mamta Banerjee said that I am not a political astrologer. It will depend on the circumstances.

New Delhi: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who is trying to build opposition unity against the BJP, has said that regional parties have the ability to lead the country and if all the regional parties come together, it can take a toll on the BJP. Mamta said that there will be a meeting of all the opposition leaders after the Parliament session to discuss the strategies.

In a conversation with reporters at the residence of a Trinamool Congress MP, Mamata Banerjee also called for opposition unity in the upcoming assembly elections, but said that the strategy to defeat the BJP in UP will have to be made by the leaders of UP.

Mamta said that if the Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party are separate, then they cannot interfere in it. Mamta also gave a message to the CPM that they should decide whether their enemy is Trinamool or BJP! Regarding the Congress, Mamta said that she has good relations with the Gandhi family and will remain so. Although Mamta admitted that the BJP is very strong, but at the same time she claimed that this time the opposition will be stronger than the BJP. Mamta said that now 'khela hobe' across the country.

On the question of who will be the face of the opposition in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in front of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mamta said that I am not a political astrologer. It will depend on the circumstances. The country will compete with Modi. At the same time, when asked whether you will lead the opposition? So instead of answering directly, Mamta said that I am an ordinary worker. I do not want to see the people and the country as my face, not my face.

In response to a question, Mamta Banerjee also said that if Modi coming from Gujarat is an insider for Delhi, then how did he become an outsider? Mamta said using the idiom that she wants to tie a bell around the cat's neck. At the same time, he described himself as LIP (Least Important Person) not VIP.

Mamta asked to wait for answers to all the questions asked about the formula of the opposition alliance regarding 2024. Mamta Banerjee said that she is meeting and talking to opposition leaders. He has met Sonia Gandhi, Kejriwal while Lalu Yadav spoke to him on the phone.

Mamta said that there is still three years time in the Lok Sabha elections. In politics, sometimes even six months is a lot. Mamata also said that she has good relations with leaders like Naveen Patnaik, Jagan Reddy, Chandrababu Naidu and even though they are not part of the opposition alliance today, they can be brought together.

Targeting the Modi government, Mamta said that today the situation is more serious than the Emergency. The condition of the economy is bad, on the other hand, the prices of petrol, diesel, cooking gas are increasing, which has made it difficult for people to walk home. Mamta reiterates demand for investigation of Pegasus espionage case. Before the third wave of Corona, it was necessary to speed up the pace of vaccination.

After interacting with journalists, Mamta went to 10 Janpath and met Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. After coming out, Mamta once again said that it is necessary for everyone to come together to defeat the BJP. On Thursday, Mamta Banerjee is scheduled to meet Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. Apart from this, DMK leader Kanimozhi will meet Mamata Banerjee.
