Uproar in Public Accounts Committee meeting: A heated debate between the Speaker and NDA MPs over the discussion on vaccine policy

All opposition leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, are constantly attacking the Modi government's vaccine policy. In the meeting of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), the opposition MPs wanted that the matter should be discussed in this committee.

New Delhi: Parliament's Public Accounts Committee (PAC) will not review the vaccine policy of the Modi government. In the meeting of the committee held today, a resolution brought in this regard by the chairman of the committee, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, could not be passed. The proposal was fiercely opposed by all the NDA MPs present in the meeting.

According to sources, in today's meeting the issues to be raised by the committee for the next one year were to be discussed and stamped. A member who attended the committee meeting told ABP News that the vaccine policy was not mentioned in the agenda item already distributed to the members. But as soon as the committee got its stamp on the agenda already set, the chairman of the committee, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, presented a proposal on the vaccine policy.

As soon as the proposal was presented, the NDA MPs present in the meeting started protesting fiercely. The protesting MPs included Lalan Singh, Jagdambika Pal, Ram Kripal Yadav and some other members.

According to sources, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has been advocating for inclusion in the agenda, citing the shortcomings of the government's vaccine policy. Another Congress MP who was present in the meeting in his favor was also continuously supporting. Meanwhile, NDA MPs challenged the Speaker to vote on this issue.

Since non-NDA and non-UPA MPs like Bhartruhari Mahtab present in the committee took a neutral stand. Therefore, not seeing the numbers in his favor, President Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury considered it appropriate not to vote on the proposal.
