Pune: Film style theft from jewelery shop, blew goods worth lakhs by piercing the wall

The thieves had rented the space a few days back in the name of opening a Chinese restaurant in the adjoining building.

In the Bavdhan Budruk area of ​​Pune, an incident of theft has come to light from a jewelery shop in a filmy style. There is a hotel building adjacent to the jewelery shop. It is alleged that the thieves took the place of rent in the name of opening a Chinese restaurant in the hotel a few days ago. From there, he committed the theft by drilling a hole in the wall of the jewelery shop.

 According to the information, a few days ago the thieves took a place in the hotel and deposited ten thousand rupees. The thieves kept the keys with themselves in the name of cleaning and setting the furniture. Then they entered the jewelery shop on Thursday night by drilling a hole in the common wall. From there they stole jewelery and things worth about Rs 1.55 lakh.

The theft took place at Jagdamba Jewelers located in Bavdhan Budruk area. A case has been registered against unknown people at Hinjewadi police station. Senior Inspector Balkrishna Sawant of Hinjewadi Police Station told Aaj Tak that the young owner of Jagdamba Jewelers Vishnu Verma lodged a report.

How the theft came to light?

When Vishnu Verma and the staff reached the jewelery shop on Friday morning, this theft came to light. Vishnu Varma told Aaj Tak that a few days ago two people came to the adjacent building to rent a place to open a Chinese restaurant. Then for a few days, he kept on pretending to get the interior work of the restaurant done. Painters were also called for painting the shop. He told the painter that the money would be given after starting the restaurant.

The thieves had distributed sweets before the theft

Vishnu Verma told that a day before the theft incident, he had also distributed sweets to the nearby shopkeepers. Both of them also spoke to Vishnu Varma. He had said that he is going to open the restaurant, so sweeten your mouth. Also said that you must come once to taste the food of Chinese restaurant. He was also boasting that he had experience working in a five star hotel in Mumbai. But due to Corona epidemic, he lost his job in lockdown. In such a situation, now he has decided to open his own Chinese restaurant in Pune.

According to Vishnu Varma, there was no indication from his words that he could be a thief. According to Senior Inspector Balkrishna Sawant, the manner in which this theft was carried out resembles some incidents in North India.
