‘I am calling from Amit Shah’s office’: How conman Sukesh befriended Jacqueline

Conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, trying to befriend Jacqueline Fernandez since December 2020, impersonated as a government official from Home Minister Amit Shah’s office and called her makeup artist Shaan Muthathil.


The conman, trying to befriend the Sri Lanka-born actor since December 2020, impersonated as a government official from Home Minister Amit Shah’s office and called Jacqueline’s makeup artist Shaan Muthathil. Over the phone, Sukesh, as the Home Ministry official, said, “Jacqueline Fernandez must get in touch with Mr Shekhar as he is an important person and would like to speak to her.”

Taking the ‘spoofed’ call as real, Shaan informed Jacqueline about the request “from Amit Shah’s office”, and in February 2020, she dialled Sukesh Chandrashekhar.
